It has been a long time since i posted here,
got alot going on in my life aswell as a few other
blogs that need my attention but being
it a new year and Adrian piling it on i thought
i would put up a short post about Jigs.
I have been recently designing and making a large
fern leaf put into its simpliest of terms and for the
leaves i was going to make it free hand and
well just wing it
Thats when the big bad wolf himself came
over and suggest i make a jig, now ive used jigs
i know what they do just never made one of my own.
So after a short brief on how to make it i got
a big bit of plate and started welding away making it
up.
This is how i got on, it doesnt look much
but it should work i just need to try it next Wednesday.
Adrian did say most jigs need a little adjustment
when they are first made to go with the steel
but other than that i should be able to fly
through all the leaves in no time.
Thinking im going to put a post up some time about
my newest toy.
Theres is a sneak peek, for all you
blacksmiths im sure you already know what it is
from looking but for you just intrested in
forging i will explain in due course.
